Dear Congressman,
I urge you to oppose the disastrous "cap and trade" bill. Policy analysts say the bill will raise energy costs, increase unemployment and weaken the economy. The legislation limiting greenhouse gas emissions will hit consumers with a 60-percent spike in gasoline prices and a 90-percent increase in electricity prices, after inflation.
Again, I strongly urge you to oppose this legislation. "Cap and trade" will destroy the American economy and dramatically increase energy costs for the average American.

Stifling the economy will crush industry and eliminate jobs. This will result in industry not having funds available to further research and development into more efficient and environmentally friendly methods of production. Cap and trade will do more to harm the environment in the long run.
